Sara's father died just one month before her mother asksed us to find her a sponsor. Her mother is a house wife in a little village with no income at all but her grandmother works as a laborer on a farm and makes $50 monthly. The mother and child live with the grandmother in a three room, adobe block house that has a cement floor and a clay tile roof. They have only one bed and they all sleep together in it. They do have an electric light in their house and running water, but the bathroom is an outhouse. She has only a couple of dresses to wear and one old doll to play with.
Sara is too young yet to understand salvation but she does love to go to church and attends on Sunday, Wednesday and any other day there is a service. She enjoys playing with the other children and hearing the Bible stories. She is barely three feet tall and weighs less than 30 pounds. She lives on rice, beans and tortillas but often they do not have the funds to purchase them. Seldom is there extra funds for a luxury like salt.
When she turns five, if she has a sponsor, she will be provided with a uniform and shoes so she can go to school, Without it, she can not enroll. She is a darling child who will truly bless her sponsor with lovely letters and long distance kisses.
